Last week (October 12-18) was a big event for most of Sweden's 300,000 hunters - the moose hunt. The Swedish hunters' association said that they planed to shoot more than last year's 83,500 animals because of the increase in the moose population in Sweden. The main targets were this year's calves. Forest owners fear that a too-large moose population will cause heavy winter damages to newly planted trees.

Before the Coordinators’ meeting:
WELCOME TO EDEN – Six schools applied for a Comenius grant in February 2009. Five schools were accepted in July. Ms. Caroline Elneus, a Swedish coordinator decided to help us despite of the fact that her school did not get a grant. In September, all involved schools organised Comenius displays about their partners. Ms Elneus launched a wiki. Soon all teachers learnt how to work with the wiki and since then all partners have been contributing to the jointly created Virtual Eden wiki http://virtualeden.wikispaces.com/ .
The Turkish school has reported a problem with the coordinator of the project.

Do you like fruit? We do! In Eden club young children like eating healthy food: lots of vegetables and fruit. Every Wednesday is a "Fruit Day", when children bring some apples, pears, grapes, oranges to have together. Can you see they are smiling? They are full of vitamins!

Tell me what you eat ...A Project day in Dub nad Moravou.
On Friday 25th september 2009 children from Dub school participated in a whole school project focused on healthy eating. It was called Tell me what you eat...and students spent a day with mainly practical activities. They investigated the amount of vitamine C and glucose in various samples of food, made posters showing their opinion about anorexia or bulimy, worked on principles of producing ecological food. Everyone looked forward to the gold point of this project - presenation of bio and healthy nutrition which included their tasting. Majority of students never tried couscous, hummus, exotic rice sorts, tofu or halva, so the project was a great oportunity to extend their knowledge of healthy food range. Many students even asked for the recipes, so they were put on a school blog.
The teachers spent lots of time preparing the project and were happy to see it was a real success.

In the pictures you can see our class last year. The children are in Maths lesson working in groups. There is a box house, and box carpet.
A nem szakrendszerű oktatást az elmúlt tanévben kezdte el az iskolánk több tantárgyból.Matematika órán készültek a képek. A gyerekek csoportokban dolgoznak. Ezen az órán dobozokból kellett házikót készíteniük és dobozból készült bútorokkal berendezniük. A lányok most tervezik el, hogy milyen bútorokat készítsenek.
